    Hall of Fame induction is the highest honor Special Olympics Ohio can bestow upon an individual or entity and recognizes current or former athletes, coaches, local coordinators, volunteers, Board members, Law Enforcement Torch Run community, staff members, organizations, corporations, or other individuals that have made significant contributions to the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities through their involvement with Special Olympics Ohio. The Hall of Fame aims to honor those who have demonstrated Athletic Achievement and Excellence, Leadership and Dedication, Impact and Legacy, Character and Sportsmanship, and Inclusion and Diversity in support of the Mission of Special Olympics Ohio.

    Nominations for the second class to be enshrined in the Special Olympics Ohio Hall of Fame can be submitted through this portal through midnight on April 30, 2026. The Hall of Fame Selection Committee will review all nominations received through the portal and select the members of the class to be enshrined. The individuals and organizations to be inducted will be announced during the 2026 State Summer Games Opening Ceremonies on Friday, May 29, 2026.

    Eligibility Requirement for Nominees
    Athlete Nominees must be current or former athletes of Special Olympics Ohio who have shown leadership within the Special Olympics community. The athlete must have a minimum of 5 years of documented Special Olympics Ohio involvement and be in good standing.

    Non-Athlete Nominees must be current or former coaches, local coordinators, volunteers, Board members, Law Enforcement Torch Run community members, staff members, organizations, corporations, or other individuals. These nominees must have made substantial contributions to the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities and must demonstrate at least 10 years of contribution and impact on Special Olympics Ohio athletes through participation, involvement, support, or financial investment.

    Priority consideration shall be given to the following selection criteria:
    Athletic Achievement and Excellence: Highlight the nominee's outstanding performance, records, and contributions to the sport or program within Special Olympics Ohio.
    Leadership and Dedication: Emphasize the nominee's leadership role, commitment, and dedication to the Special Olympics Ohio community.
    Impact and Legacy: Showcase the long-term impact and legacy of the nominee's contributions to the Special Olympics Ohio movement and its participants.
    Character and Sportsmanship: Value the nominee's character, sportsmanship, and positive influence on others within the Special Olympics Ohio community.
    Inclusion and Diversity: Highlight the nominee's efforts to promote inclusion and diversity within the Special Olympics Ohio community, ensuring equal opportunities and representation for all individuals.
